    Meditation or Bilateral Stimulation: How Do They Differ?

    Both reduce stress and promote relaxation, which is why they get treated as the same kind of thing. They are not: one trains attention over weeks, the other works on memories that still carry a charge.

    Neither is therapy. Where a memory is severe enough that you are considering working on it deliberately, that belongs with a specialist rather than with either practice on your own.
